Looking for a new way to explore Jefferson County? Grab a passport, hit the road, and follow the popcorn trail.

The Mountaineer Popcorn Trail is a new passport adventure created in collaboration with Mountaineer Popcorn Company and Jefferson County Convention & Visitors Bureau. The trail encourages locals and visitors to discover businesses throughout the county, collect stickers along the way, and enjoy a tasty reward when they reach the finish line.

And leading the way? JC Kernel, the trail's official popcorn character.

How the Popcorn Trail Works

Getting started is easy. Pick up a Popcorn Trail Passport at any participating location, then visit the businesses listed inside. At each stop, check in and receive a sticker for your passport, no purchase necessary.

Once you've collected at least seven stickers, return your completed passport to either Mountaineer Popcorn location to redeem a free small traditional bag of popcorn.

The trail is also a chance to share your adventure. Snap a photo while you're out enjoying the trail and share it using the Mountaineer Popcorn Trail "Add Yours" Story on Instagram, available through the @mountaineerpopcorn Instagram highlights or the QR code included in the passport. Participants who share their trail experience will also have a chance to win additional prizes.

The Mountaineer Popcorn Trail features a mix of local businesses and destinations throughout Jefferson County, giving participants plenty of reasons to explore somewhere new or revisit a favorite.
